Attractive locations

Île aux Cerfs

A small island off the east coast with white sand beaches and calm turquoise water, reached by boat from Trou d'Eau Douce. Visitors come for swimming, snorkelling, water sports and a golf course.

Île aux Aigrettes

Small nature reserve island off the south-east coast, where native coastal forest is being restored. Guided walks show rare birds, giant tortoises and plants once common across Mauritius.

Blue Bay Marine Park

Protected marine area on the south-east coast with clear shallow water and coral gardens. Snorkelling trips and glass-bottom boat rides show a wide range of reef fish.

Lion Mountain

Bras d'Eau National Park

A coastal park on the northeast coast with woodland, wetlands and a stretch of beach. Visitors can walk or cycle shaded trails and look for deer, birds and native plants.
