Attractive locations

Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve

Flooded-forest reserve in the north-east, explored by canoe along black-water lagoons. Visitors look for pink river dolphins, monkeys, caimans and many birds, and stay in jungle lodges.

Yasuní National Park

Vast rainforest park and biosphere reserve, among the most species-rich places on Earth. Access is controlled, and visits are made by river with local guides, often with stops in Indigenous communities.

Limoncocha Biological Reserve

Reserve around a lagoon in the Napo basin, good for birdwatching from canoes. Caimans, monkeys and hundreds of bird species live in its forest and wetlands.

Cuyabeno River

A river through the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Canoe and boat trips on its waterways are a common way to see birds, monkeys and river dolphins.

Airports
