Attractive locations

Stari Most (Old Bridge)

Graceful single-arch stone bridge over the Neretva River, first built in the 16th century and rebuilt after the 1990s war. Local divers sometimes jump from it into the river below.

Karađoz-bey Mosque

Ottoman mosque from the 1550s near the old town, widely seen as one of the finest in the country. It has a peaceful courtyard and a tall minaret. Modest dress is expected.

Blagaj Tekke

Whitewashed Sufi dervish house built beside a cliff, where the Buna River flows out of a cave. A peaceful spot a short drive from the city, with riverside cafes close by.

Partisan Memorial Cemetery

Hillside memorial from the Yugoslav era, designed by the architect Bogdan Bogdanovic. Its terraces, stairways and stone forms are an unusual place to wander, though parts have been neglected.

Statue of Bruce Lee

Bronze statue of the film star in a small city park, put up to symbolise unity between the town's divided communities. A light-hearted stop on a walk through the new town.

Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque

A seventeenth-century mosque beside the Neretva river close to the Old Bridge, with a minaret that visitors can climb for views over Mostar. Visitors should dress modestly.

Radimlja Necropolis

A medieval cemetery near Stolac with large carved stone tombstones called stećci, some decorated with figures and hunting scenes. It is part of a UNESCO World Heritage listing of such grave markers.
